Redshift: A Stylized 3D Character Exploration
We created a stylized 3D character from scratch, focusing on a blend of realism and cartoon aesthetics. The goal was to craft a model that is animation-ready, expressive, and visually engaging from every angle — ideal for use in games, films, or interactive content.
What We Did
Concept to Final Render: We started with a hand-drawn concept and built the character in 3D using clean topology for smooth deformation.
Modeling & Topology: As shown in the renders, we maintained a clean wireframe mesh structure to ensure flexibility in rigging and animation.
Texturing & Shading: The character’s skin, clothing, and hair were textured with stylized shaders for a soft, appealing look.
Hair Design: The layered red hair was modeled manually for full control over shape and flow.
Visual Highlights
Big expressive eyes to bring out personality
Subtle facial features that work well with various moods and animations
Soft lighting and shadows to enhance the overall look without overcomplicating the scene
Creative Thought
We wanted the character to feel alive — almost like she just stepped out of an animated movie. The slightly surprised look was chosen intentionally to add a sense of curiosity and innocence, sparking immediate interest from viewers.
Use Cases
